Conning Tower Mechanism for model submarine type 212 (v2014)

Zoom
This item is not on stock and has to be re-ordered.

This mechanism drives periscopes, radar, snorkel and antennas in- and outwards of the conning tower.

New version with cylinder made of stainless steel.

When the model submerges, i. e. Piston Tank is filling, the pressure within the model increases. At about 80% filling volume the pressure within the boat activates piston movement in a cylinder built into the mechanism. This movement moves a slide into the conning tower on which the devices are mounted.

As soon as the submarine reemerges to the water surface the pressure within the  model decreases (as the Piston Tank empties), whereby periscopes, radar, snorkel and antennas retract.

The mechanism also serves as safety indicator. Should the model suffer a leakage during its dive, the over-pressure within the boat will decrease forcing the conning tower mechanism to extract. A clear indication to bring the model back safe to shore and check for a possible leakage.

Fully-built and painted unit.

PLEASE NOTE: This mechanism is suitable for NEW VERSION of 212, only (purchase date Nov. 2014 and after).
